Joseph of Arimathea


Rich merchant, olive oil producer among other businesses. Edissa’s husband and Deborah’s father. He is part of the Sanhedrin and the circle of Pontius Pilate, attending the palace. As a good marketer, he maintains great relationships with everyone. He suffers with the disappearance of his beloved wife who, affected by a chronic bleeding, leaves to save the family from humiliation. He is constantly distressed, not knowing whether Edissa is alive or dead. She worries about Deborah in the arduous task of fulfilling her fatherly role. Arimathea becomes a disciple of Jesus. He will help remove the Messiah’s body from the cross, and burial it in the tomb of his property.
