Jacob

Jacob is the son of Isaac and Rebekah, the twin brother of Esau and the grandson of Abraham. Husband of Leah and Rachel, father of twelve sons and daughter with their two wives and their maidservants. Esau and Jacob are born, fulfilling the prophecy of God to Rebekah on the two nations that would be born of her womb. Jacob is a quiet man, simple, of a peaceful temperament and very hardworking. As a young man, he takes advantage of a moment of weakness of his brother and buys the right to the progeny of Esau. Esau discarded something invaluable in exchange for a plate of lentils, also showing that he was not worthy. Later, influenced by his mother, Jacob deceives his father and receives the blessing of progeny. Fearful of the fury of Esau, Jacob leaves Canaan and goes for the region where his uncle, Laban, dwells to find a wife. Arriving at Haran, he falls madly in love with Rachel, but is deceived and marries Leah. Disgusted, he despises Leah, but fulfills his obligations as a husband, marrying Rachel right after that. The guilt for what he did to his brother will haunt and torment him until the day he decides to find his family again… Jacob has a long journey until he understands how careful and blessed God is. For years he will be blind to the great woman at his side, despising her, until finally… he opens his eyes!
