Roman. Governor of Judea, at the time when Jesus was crucified. Firm man. To keep order, he is capable of ordering massacres. He despises the Jews and hates living in Jerusalem. Loses patience with ease. His fury is contained only by his wife Claudia, whom he admires, loves and respects. He worries about his daughter, Helena, who nurtures sympathy for the Jews, to the point of living a forbidden love with the apostle Judas Thaddeus. He tries to save Jesus from the crucifixion, under Claudia’s influence, but fails to do so.
