Olavo is Bárbara’s father. He is a competent lawyer, but he is a possessive man in relation to his daughter and family. He will do what it takes to make her life in Rio difficult. He means no harm, but he thinks he knows what will make his daughter happy. (He wanted her to study in the university in Belo Horizonte.) Whenever he can he goes to Rio to check on his only daughter. He doesn’t realize that each day he is drifting apart from his wife and is shocked when she asks for a divorce.
