Born in Nazareth. Married to Joseph. Mother of Jesus, she will have four more sons and two daughters: Simon, Judas, Joseph, James, Elisheba and Yonah. All of them will harass Jesus, out of jealousy, except for Yonah. When engaged, the angel Gabriel announces that she will be fertilized by the Holy Spirit. Living in a society in which the woman is heavily discriminated against, Maria will be accused of being an adulteress, even threatened with death. She will face everything with courage and dignity. She will conceive Jesus as a virgin. Loving mother, she will suffer terribly with the sacrifice of Jesus.
