Is a good, honest and hard working man.  He is Ester`s cousin who raised her from childhood when she became an orphan.  He is a Jew who is faithful to his Jewish traditions and to God, and refuses to honor man.  He is persecuted because of this, but bravely faces his enemies.  He is be named the King`s minister and helps Ester save the Jewish people.
