She is the story’s main character. As the daughter of an African slave, Luena, with a slave trader, Osório, JULIANA is a beautiful mulatto with delicate features and a sculptural body.

Respectful, well-mannered and hardworking, she is a just person of incorruptible character. She can defend herself when necessary and she fights for those she loves.

She was raised at the Engenho do Sol farm and has worked from an early age as Teresa’s maid.
