Sócrates is a self-made man, he owns Progênese, the biggest chain of hospitals, clinics and laboratories of the country. His biggest sorrow is the mysterious disappearance, some years ago, of his wife and daughter. He has become a bitter man, surrounded by selfish relatives. He dies in the first episodes, triggering the mysteries of the soap opera.
