Álvaro Garnero is the son of the entrepreneur Mario Garnero and Ana Maria Monteiro de Carvalho. He was born in Rio de Janeiro. His family has been compared to the great dynasties of the high society in America and Europe – like the Kennedy or the Grimaldi – his family has a big tradition of prestige and representativeness.

On his mother’s side of the family, his grandfather, Joaquim Monteiro de Carvalho, was responsible for bringing to Brazil companies like Volkswagen, Peugeot and Moët and Chandon. He headed one of 20 biggest company groups of the country, the Monteiro Aranha group (in which council he still participates), Joaquim Monteiro de Carvalho is an icon.

Alvaro’s father, Mario Garnero, is another. Founder of the BrasilInvest Group, Mario Garnero’s prestige is unanimous in the whole world. His deserved prestige – which fills  his agenda  with 13 thousand names – has guaranteed the friendship with personalities as George Bush and Bill Clinton.
